Kristian Valen was described a a "multi talented thriple threat" by the international media after being headhunted to perform both improvised comedy,impersonations and his own singer/song writer hit "Still here" at "THE FOREVER MICHAEL JACKSON" by Michaels family. In front of the world press, some of the worlds leading artist, presidents, diplomats and fans he debuted by making the crowd at the sold out show in The Beverly Hills Hotel both stamp their feet laughing before ending it of by making them cry. Who is he?

A story about trying to stay strong when loosing someone you love.

 

This video was shot over 4 days in Downtown LA, in a real childrens hospital that made it extra hard for Kristian ("To me the song was about loosing someone that was real close that left us too soon. Staying at the hospital bedside to M I met this young couple who had just had a car crash, and the story they told hit me hard. I asked the guy later if it was ok to use their story in the video since mine was to personal to put on film. He said ok and told me so many positive things about his girlfriend and how she begged him to take her out off the hospital so she could breathe fresh air before leaving. The story hits me everytime I perform the song to this day.")

A classic story about 2 people in love but torn apart for different reasons when facing reality.

 

After hearing the song the MTV award winning director Ray Kay said: "My God.... this is the classic Romeo and Juliet but in a different wrapping!"

Coming from making music videos for Britney Spears,Beyonce and Puff Daddy Ray Kay was very happy by getting the chance to do a music video with a "short movie look" since that is very rare today since it is to expencive to make.

 

The music video was shot over the time periode of 4 days in LA,Malibu and Beverly Hills, starring the world famouse soccer player and actor Vinnie Jones and the world famous tv/movie actress Taylor Cole.

"Budgets,records,airplay or sales etc have never been a goa when writing and making music. I have always looked at music as a self therapy and had never dreamed that I would make money on my music so in a way I feel that everything of money that have been made on music should go back to the music videos or productions since my goal have never been to make money on music. I feel lucky just to be able to do this and now seeing that MY personal thoughts and simple chords are downloaded in Norway and the rest of the world feels unreal.l" 

A simple story about how we all wish that we could go back in time and do better,be better and be stronger.

But WHAT IF? Would YOU have done things different?

 

In one of Scandinavias biggest music video projects Kristian and his team was very exited after getting a YES from The Royal Norwegian Army to play a role in the video with manpower and equipment.

But after The Royal Norwegian Army Commander (Who later worked for The UN) wanted to change the storyline of the video since "no Norwegian had died by enemy fire by this date", Kristian said no and said "this is the story I have been told and that I promised to make!".

The Army responded by threatning some of the soldiers who wanted to help Kristian in this project in a fax saying "if any Norwegian soldiers is a part of this project, it would have a negative effect on their military carrier".

The soldiers (Both Norwegian and from other NATO countries did not back off since they all knew that the commander was not telling the truth. But this ment that some of the Norwegian soldiers faces had to be erased or blurred after filming. The police tried to stop this video by helicopters and police units, but could not since Kristians producer had gotten the OK from the owner of the area where the short film was shot.)

 

"I thought the soldiers was kidding me when they said they had been threatened until I saw a fax sendt to The Royal Kings Guard. But I believe all things happen for a reason and are very greatful for all the support we got from soldiers and army contacts who pulled thru and managed to pull this together! I bare no grudge what so ever to the commander for the army and I guess he had his reasons, and remember him as a great guy with a big smile."

The story of finally letting go after facing the fact that all good things must come to an end. About how you try to change so you do not end up hurting the one you love. But sometimes you can´t win over your own demons, when habits seems like your safe haven.

 

"This is probably the most personal song and video I have made since it does not hide that much in the storyline. I mean that the director made THIS story after I told him my personal reasons behind the song. I never wanted to write or tell to much about my lyrics or videos since I feel that music and music videos should always be open for every viewer to make up their own mind and story."
